Taj Majahual (pronounced Ma-ha-wall) is clearly the most interesting house on the Costa Maya. From the talavera tiled dome to the hand-crafted woodwork to the themed bedrooms, Taj Majahual is an artful experience that celebrates the color of Mexico and the tropics.
Taj Majahual is privately owned by a couple from San Antonio. Their love of Mexico and its Spanish colonial history are apparent in every detail. Mayan Beach Garden is proud to
make Taj Majahual available to you in their behalf. It is by far the most unique house on the Costa Maya at a great price.
The "off the grid" house may be rented as a one bedroom house with kitchen (Sultan's Suite), 2, 3 or 4 bedrooms (Whole enchilada!) or as 3 separate individually rented bedrooms. Confused? A plan of the house is included below. Mayan Beach Garden restaurant is within walking distance from the house and breakfast at MBG is included in the price of individual rooms (breakfast is not included in Sultan's suite).

Placer Beachfront:
The elevated house sits 100 feet from the Caribbean's
crystal clear water. With unobstructed views of white sand from the house to
the beach. Taj Majahual's sandy beach is great for swimming and is minutes from Punta Placer where you will find great
snorkeling.
The large Party balcony area has a talavera tile carpet in colors that match the caribbean and table to seat 10 for entertaining.
Jungle in the rear and on both sides, and with no immediate neighbors, Taj Majahual is quiet
and secluded yet close enough to Mayan Beach Garden if you want to
stroll down the beach for dinner or an Alex Special for breakfast!

Under the dome, enjoy a cool dip in the iridescent tiled plunge pool. Or travel up the stairs to the sun-roof and enjoy the view of the Lagoon on the West and the Caribbean on the East. |
A beautiful iridescent Mosaic starfish graces the floor of the pool. The artist used imported glass tiles mirroring the colors throughout Taj Majahual. Like the pool at the real Taj Majahual - this is truly the centerpiece.

The Master Bedroom is truly a luxurious space. From the incredibly comfortable pillow-top King size bed to the Caribbean view you
wake up to every morning, to the master bathroom jacuzzi you will feel pampered.
The Master bed pictured at the left, is nestled into a Moorish arch entirely covered with iridescent glass tile. The bed looks out onto the Caribbean through a full length glass door and large tinted windows.
Sultan's Suite- includes:
Master Bedroom and bath with Jacuzzi, shower, spacious bathroom, Gourmet kitchen (shown above) and Great Room

| Taj Majahual is unique in that you can rent whatever part of the house you want. The entire residence has 4 bedrooms, or you can rent just the Luxurious Master suite (Sultan's suite) with gourmet kitchen and great room. Optionally, you may rent just 1 bedroom. All rooms have access to the plunge pool, dining temple and common area. Individual bedrooms have cube fridges for cooling drinks, private baloneys and include a hot breakfast at Mayan Beach Garden (only good when renting individual rooms without kitchen). |

- Taj Majahual "whole enchilada" requires a $500 security deposit . The security
deposit will be mailed to you within 15 days of your departure. Ask about security deposits for individual rooms.
- For each additional person over 8 (when renting the entire house) there is a $20 charge per person
per day. Only the "Saluta de Fruta" room is available for extra persons.
- When renting individual bedrooms (Jungle, Fruta or Beachy Ceviche) price includes a complete breakfast at Mayan Beach Garden Restaurant . Breakfast not included when renting Sultan's suite or the entire house (after all, it has a kitchen!).

Taj Majahual House Plan. Sultan's Suite takes up all of the house on the right side. A privacy wall keeps all balcony's private from each other if you want to rent separately. Stairs go up to a spectacular view from the rooftop.
El Placer :Taj Majahual is located in Placer - 20 km north of Mahahual and the Costa Maya Port. Placer is known for having some of the most beautiful beaches on the Costa Maya. El Placer, which translates to "the Pleasure" in Spanish lives up to its name with spectacular beaches, pleasant breezes and temperate climate when compared to other areas of the Caribbean. |

 Entertaining easily spills
out onto the elevated dining temple through glass doors. The dining table
seats 10 on hand-made zebra wood furniture or separates into three smaller tables for more intimate dining.
The Powder room (off the kitchen and included in the Sultan's suite) is influenced by Haciendas in northern Yucatan with its talavera sink and tomato red color.

The beaches in
front and both north and south of taj Majahual are pure white sand,
great for swimming or just beach combing. The beach is unobstructed
by Mangroves or other items enabling you to walk for hours in either
direction.
Taj Majahual , although secluded is only a 5 minute walk from Mayan Beach Garden
restaurant.
